Emma Sterrett-Hong, Ph.D., LMFT, is a psychologist and marital and family therapist specializing in child/adolescent and family therapy.  She graduated from the Family Institute at Northwestern University and from the clinical psychology program at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.  She is a licensed marital and family therapist in Kentucky and in the process of obtaining her license as a psychologist.  Among her specialty areas are:

  • Child/adolescent behavior problems
  • Child/adolescent anxiety & depression
  • Child/adolescent adjustment difficulties (geographic re-location, divorce)
  • Child/adolescent traumatic stress (due to abuse, victimization, natural disasters)
  • Child-parent relationship difficulties
  • Pre-marital counseling
  • Couple difficulties

Emma’s treatment orientation is a blend of cognitive-behavioral and family systems theories.  She takes an evidence-based approach to treatment, utilizing research evidence as she collaborates with clients to determine and reach their therapeutic goals.
